In England and Wales, an EPC is now required on sale or rent of all marketed sales. By October 2008,
EPCs will be required for rental of all dwellings and all sales and leaseholds of dwellings not previously covered (this includes non-HIPs marketed sales and all non-marketed sales).
EPCs are required on construction for properties built to pre-2006 Building Reqs now.
Newbuild properties built to 2006 Building Regs will not need an EPC (or a HIP) until April 2008.
